Mimi's Visit

We ALWAYS LOVE when Mimi comes to visit. My mom, "Mimi" came up to us for her week of spring break. Thankfully, we actually had a week of somewhat mild weather for up here at this time. We were able to play outside a lot! We went to the park and up to the Rochester Zoo. And mimi played with them on the couch cushions everyday! :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Before the Zoo trip, we went to a nursing home in Rochester to visit my mom's Aunt Ida. My mom hasn't been able to see her in YEARS!!!! She is my pop's older sister. We had a sweet time visiting with her. It was my first time meeting her. She is in her mid to late 90's. I also met my mom's cousin Lyn for the first time as well. Aunt Ida really lit up and smiled at the kids - so that was special for her to meet them as well.

Then we ate a quick lunch and headed off to the zoo. The kids loved it since they are so into animals right now and the Lord kept us dry because He held the rain off until we were heading out to the car!

These fake polar bears had to do. The real ones would not come out to see us.

Abby's favorite were the elephants.

Sleeping Penguins.

I love the tigers. They are so beautiful!

Will really liked these snakes and we took this picture especially for Josh since he HATES them.

There were 4 bald eagles and they are so pretty to look at. They didn't need nets to keep them from flying away because even though they were healed now, at some point they had a broken wing and will never be able to fly again.

The Rhinos were awesome. I've never seen one in person before. Will enjoyed watching them fight with their enormous horns.

WOAH!

There were tons of different species of monkeys. These orangutans were fun to watch swing from the ropes.

My cuties enjoying the animals.

Thanks Mimi for coming to visit and treating us to the zoo! We had a great time and can't wait to have you back up in a few more weeks!

Treck Down to VA

Here are a few pictures of our visit with my sister Jen and her family in VA. I got them all from her blog because I forgot to take my camera out of the car.... go figure. It was a great week with family! It really made me appreciate my husband even more. I was so exhausted by the end of the week without all of his help. The kids always seem to act up more without dad around. I am so thankful and blessed to have Josh!

Dress up Time!

Sittin' by the Fire! Abby loved this so much and didn't seem bothered by how warm it made her back. Will and Lauren would get up after a few minutes saying their backs were too hot.

Will and Lauren played so well together !

Trip to the Museum

So its been a while since I've posted AGAIN! A few weeks ago I got the flu for an entire week... it was awful. I ended up in the hospital for a day to get IV fluids and even after that and anti-nausea meds I still went home throwing up for another day and a half. Thankfully no one else in the family got it as bad as I did. I finished the flew on Thursday and then Saturday left for my trip to VA to visit Jen and her family. These pictures are of the day before I got the flu. We drove a couple hours up to Rochester NY to the Strong National Museum of Play. It was SO much fun! The kids enjoyed it and were worn out.

Giant Harp

Giant Chess

There was a butterfly room that the kids loved. It was like 100 degrees in there and misty and humid. haha, not the best for the hair.

This is a mini Wegmans, which is one of the grocery stores we have up here. Will loved getting his own food and scanning it. They make it all seem so real. No he wants to raid my pantry all the time and pretend he is shopping!

Abby looks thrilled here. This is one of Sesame Street's new characters.. Abby Cadabby.... so of course we wanted to get her pictures by it... I dont think she really cares.

What a face!

The famous Sesame Street Stairs!

In every big kid area they had these foam areas for smaller children to play... Abby loved every second of it.

Crazy mirrors..

This room was weird and made you feel like you were falling over. Will kept going back to this for some reason.

It was a fun family outing for us.
