This is A First

So, this is a first in our family. This is the first broken bone on Josh's side and the first of the grand kids on my side. On Saturday Abby fell off our deck on a little kid bike and broke both of her forearm bones. (our deck isn't even 2 feet off the ground... and we were outside with her) She had a huge bloody front lip and I thought that is why she was crying so much. I couldn't get her to stop crying for a while and then she was SO fussy the rest of the night and waking up through her sleep crying. The next day I noticed she wasn't using her left arm and would cry every time she was bumped or fell. That wasn't like her because she is usually so tough anytime anything happens to her. So Monday we took her to her pediatrician who had us go get Xrays... and we found out she actually broke the bones. We were shocked. She really was such a trooper through it all. She got this splint on until they were able to cast it. They kept the cast white because they said adding more to it with a colored one will add more weight and her little 20 pound body doesn't need to be carrying any more weight.

Here she is showing off her splint - which she kept trying to take off.

She loves her daddy - giving him kisses over and over.

I don't know if you click on this picture to make it larger if you can actually see the breaks or not.... I don't have a scanner, so taking a picture of an xray is not the easiest.

My white cast, that will probably soon be brown from playing outside!

"So, now what do I do to get up on this chair?"

I can't believe how much she looks like me in this picture! (finally)

You can't see the break in this picture, but I thought it looked neat.

So, since little ones heal so quickly she will have another Xray next week and may be able to get it off already. If not, they said probably 2 weeks at the longest.... I'm hoping it will be off before little one arrives!

The Count Down

So, here is the belly. 36 weeks at this time and I'm counting down 3 weeks until the c-section on May 8th. I feel like I'm going to pop and the baby is VERY low! I had my last ultrasound on Tuesday. The doctor said my fluid was up so much that I don't need it monitored anymore unless we see changes.

I'm so thankful that I'm still feeling well and have energy. This baby continues to stay extremely active which is so amazing to feel!

I used to think it was a boy, and sometimes now I'm thinking girl because I feel like my belly has started to look like the shape I was with Abby... so who knows! But we'll all find out soon!

Easter Weekend

This past Easter weekend was so much fun!

We started off on Saturday coloring eggs.... oh what fun right?
not the most fun thing in my book with young kids and dye.... but Will Loved it!

Then we tried to make some sugar cookies.
My second attempt ever, and still not super successful.

The dough is always too sticky and so the shapes get weird and its hard to transfer them to the baking sheets.... we still enjoyed eating them.

Then we had our own little egg hunt Saturday night since we knew Sunday was going to be a busy day. I don't have pictures of it since we video-taped it, but it was fun to watch Will and Abby look for eggs together.

Sunday we went to the early service so I could actually go to church since I help with the 4 year olds during the second service. It was such a challenging and moving service. Josh invited friends of ours from the next town over and they enjoyed it as well so we are thankful that they want to come back again. After church we had lunch with Josh's family....8 adults and 10 children under the age of 10....it was fun. Then all the kids had their egg hunt outside and had a blast eating their candy.

Will excited about each egg he got.

Abby actually understood to put her eggs in her bag and look for more. It was so cute!

Josh's dad, "Pappa", was entertaining Abby by putting this cloth on her head. Yes her hair is out of control again and yes this doily on her head makes her look very "mennonite-ish" - if thats even a word!

Easter Pictures 2009

Happy Easter! Here are the pictures I took of the kiddos in their Easter outfits. Josh just laughs everytime I tell him of another "photo shoot" I've done with the kids... but I love to take pictures and what is more fun than to take them of my kids... and I will cherish the memories captured!

They are looking more and more alike to me these days!
I wonder if the next one will look just as similar.

Thank You For the Cross

GOOD Friday!!
BAD Hair-day!!!

Strike A Pose

(Yes, this is how she woke up this morning)
I've never seen anything like it!

On a more serious note.... we are so thankful today for Jesus' sacrifice for us on the cross. We have so much to be thankful and grateful for. God bless you all today. May you reflect on the amazing sacrificial love of our Jesus!

Quick Info

Last Thursday I had another ultrasound to make sure my fluid levels are normal since they were somewhat low with Will and terribly low with Abby. This baby seems to be different in every way. This baby is my only one that is head down, showing no signs at all of any hair (both the others had hair visible on the ultrasound and were born with some), lots of fluid, and loves sitting on my nerves and giving me pain. The ultrasound tech said the baby was about 4 pounds 2 ounces, measuring right about my due date. We are still on schedule for May 8th and I have another ultrasound Tuesday the 14th to just still keep an eye on my fluid. Will keep you updated.

Not Rated.....

Sorry for the nudity.
I Just couldn't resist.
Abby is 17 months going on 3.
She wants to do everything her brother does..... especially go on the potty! She pulls her pants off all the time and sqauts on the floor with her diaper, says "poo poo" and looks at the floor to see what she just did, haha. She has gone in the big potty and the little one several times. She loves sitting on either, but I don't have the time or patience to put her on there all the time. This one day I tried for a few hours to keep her without a diaper.... she was successful a couple times, even once on her own... but then, while I was on the phone she comes up to me and puts a pile of poo on my leg! Needless to say, I hung up and laughed and had some cleaning up to do. She isn't ready because she still doesn't always realize when she is going... but she is definitly going to be easier to train than Will, once I'm ready that is...

She is always wanting shoes or boots on as well... lovely combination here right

Nice Face... She was actually just smiling, I didn't catch it in time.

The Island

Last weekend we took a 5 1/2 hour trip to Long Island, NY where I grew up. It was great to see family that we haven't seen in about 8 months. We stayed with Oma and Opa and just basically spent time with them, relaxing - talking - watching the kids be crazy. The weather ended up being cold and rainy so we didn't go out a whole lot. Sunday was nice of course, the day we were leaving.

Here is a picture of Will and Abby with Oma and Opa. The kids really took to them and enjoyed doing things that made them laugh and got their attention.

We went to see the horses on Saturday evening, but had to take a trip down to see them again Sunday morning before church since the sun was finally out. Abby loved the horses and didn't want you to take her away from them. Here is Abby on her walk down to the barn. Those tights just didn't want to stay up. We ended up just taking them off.

Will really liked the horses as well. Last time we visited he was a little scared, this time he was into them.

Yes the tights are coming down again! Abby is thrilled..... I am working on her first sentence to be " I love you daddy, will you buy me a pony?"

On Saturday morning we took the kids on a train ride. We were planning on taking them into the city and we are SO glad we decided not to because of the nasty weather. We just took them one stop over to the mall area and walked a block to the mall. Just walking one block we were freezing. The wind was so strong that day. We made out at the mall though. They were having a kid festival and Will got to jump on an inflatable, play on a kiddie zone, meet spider man, paint a car pottery, and more... all for free.

Will loved every bit of the train ride and kept asking to go back on.

You can just see how excited he was to be on this fast train.

The Disney Store was like Disney World to my kids. They have never been in one of these stores and they were thrilled. Winnie the Pooh was definitely larger than Abby, but she carried him around anyway.

They rode around in this car which was nice that we didn't have to carry them....

What a blessing to still have my grandparents and the kids great grandparents around. We love you Oma and Opa!
